FairWater

About

This project was created for my final assignment in my Fall 2020 Major Studio course taught by Morry Galonoy at Parsons School of Design.

My Role: Brand Design, Motion Graphics, UI/UX Design
Tools Used: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Figma
Timeline: 2 Weeks

Background

This is a speculative project based around the infrastructure problem in the United States causing lead contamination in the public water supply. Some 21 million Americans rely on water from utilities that have health violations and there are currently over 6 million lead service lines in use across the country that need to be replaced.

To reduce the scale of the project, I focused on Newark, NJ and its water crisis starting in 2016.

Problem

When faced with a water crisis, affected citizens are instructed to not use the water from their faucets, there is often a reactive, limited service that does not make it convenient for people in need to get access to supplies.

Solution

FairWater aims to combine the government, local businesses, and the community as a whole to modernize and expand the response through mutual aid. Users can register as citizens in need of access to clean water, donators, and merchants offering space at their stores to increase distribution services.
